5 Ways to Inspire a Love of Music in Kids This Summer
-
Take them to the concerts.
There is nothing more musically inspiring than experiencing live music.
Not only you will foster the lifelong love of music in your children by taking them to concerts and live festivals, but also create fun memories!
Many parks and organizations around Los Angeles are offering affordable or free music concerts this summer.
Check out my kids’ favorite summer concerts:
Twilight Concert Series at Santa Monica Pier
Summer Concerts at Burton Chase Park in Marina del Rey
Summer Concerts in Playa Vista Summer
Concerts in the Park at Pollywog in Manhattan Beach
Concerts on Canon in Beverly Hills Summer Concerts and
Fireworks Finale at Hollywood Bowl. -
Encourage them to move to music.
Put on the music and dance with your child. Dancing is a great physical activity that not only connects people and build a fun atmosphere, but also teaches about the rhythm and tempo.
Dance away to your kids’ favorite tunes and nursery songs and gradually explore the different genres and dance moves with your children.
I just love dancing and watching my kids dance! It always brings out loads of laughter! -
Sing and rhyme together.
Children naturally love singing along! From the time they are born, children learn to recognize and mimic the sounds. Singing lullabies and nursery rhymes to your little ones not only create fun connection, but also help your kids learn language! And nothing is more enjoyable than making up silly tunes and singing them together! 🙂
My kids and I are creating songs while playing in the park, digging in the beach sand, or driving to the activities. It makes life so much fun and better, too!

Share what you know.
Teach your children about the music you liked listening growing up. Listen to your favorite music together. Then, try to expand your musical tastes by listening to a music written in different genres and styles. Share your thoughts and feelings about the music you hear.
