Practice time can be anywhere from 5 minutes for a very young beginner to any number of hours for an advanced adult. For example, young beginners who are ages 4-6 are asked to practice their assigned song 5 times per day, which takes on average 4-5 minutes. Children ages 6-7 who have been taking lessons for 1 year are advised to practice 15-30 minutes per day. In other words, students have individual practice time plans based on their age and their length of piano study.
